If you can only have one, ask yourself how much you care about track days. If you do them a lot, get the SF.

I had a similar decision and picked up a Monster 1200S over the street fighter. 2 up riding was a little.more friendly, Ducati sells bags for the Monster 821/1200, Ohlins suspension, much lower maintenance, and for me the monster ergonomics were better. If it was 821 vs Streetfighter as the options, I would choose the streetfighter.

It's actually less agressive than the Streetfighter handling wise as it uses most of the geometry of the tried and true 848 Superbike. I find it's styling more appealing then the Monster. Both are really good bikes (Monster and SF) but I like the aftermarket for the SF better and its looks.

The Monster is less aggressive (in every way) and will be more comfortable for many (possibly most) riders. The Monster is definitely more comfortable for shorter/smaller people.

The Monster does get hotter under the seat than the V2 which does a better job dissipating the heat. I would strongly consider the SP and add on the Termi racing silencers.
